The leader
Science club.
The one club at school that excited me the most. It was a no-brainer when I transferred to Hollowdale High that I would sign up. Even tutoring those who needed it didn’t bother me. I took it in my stride that I could help anybody learn about the wonders of science. If you had a life skill, why wouldn’t you use it to help others?
‘Let’s all welcome our newest member, Elizabeth Jacobs.’ The teacher gestured in my direction and I smiled widely.
‘Beth, please,’ I said, correcting him the way I’d corrected all of my teachers that day.
‘Beth it is.’ He nodded and pointed at the whiteboard behind him. ‘These are the topics and experiments we plan to cover this term. For those of you who plan to study one of the sciences at university, I suggest you show up for all of them. However, you may pick and choose the subjects that interest you the most. I will post the tutoring schedule next week.’
In my school planner, I scribbled down the dates and experiments, excited to get started.
I looked up at the board again, and that was when he walked through the door, a pissed off expression covering his face. It was the guy from the hallway earlier.
One of those rebels that Layla pointed out.
The leader. The hottest guy by far.
